Loss of Household Services Cost
Responsible experts: Christopher Skerritt, M.Ed., MBA (Chief of Economic Services); Matthew R. Putts, Ph.D. (Chief of Vocational Services)
Typical range
Household services evaluations are scoped to the assignment and the documentation available. KWVRS provides a written fee schedule and a cost estimate before work begins.
What drives cost
- Whether the analysis covers a single individual or a household with dependents
- Availability of pre-injury household activity documentation
- Whether an interview is required to establish the prior division of household labor
- Use of replacement-cost data specific to the jurisdiction
- Coordination with a forensic economist for present-value calculation
- Deposition and trial testimony, including preparation and travel time
Billing structure
Household services analysis is billed at an hourly rate for review, interview, research, report preparation, and testimony. A retainer is established at the outset and applied against time incurred. The current rate schedule and retainer terms are provided on request and confirmed in a written engagement agreement.
